First of all, we have quite a few products from Compass Classroom and have always appreciated their biblical worldview. They carry a lot of curriculum in DVD format, which is one of our favorite ways to supplement our regular school lessons.
So, I knew that their newest DVD Is Genesis History? would be a wonderful addition to our homeschool library. We are very passionate about Creation Science in our home and stand firmly on the Bible’s account of a young earth, creation happening in 6 literal days, and the world-wide flood.
Is Genesis History?
We received the Is Genesis History? DVD from Compass Classroom for reviewing purposes and all opinions are my own.
If you can not take the very first book of the Bible (Genesis) at its Word, then how does the rest of the Bible hold any value? How can a person disregard the biblical account of creation, as recorded in Genesis, and still claim to believe the truths found throughout the rest of the Bible?
Evolution simply does not fit in with the Bible. Creation by design is HIStory and it is clearly found in the Bible, starting in Genesis.
If you remove Genesis as the solid foundation of God’s Word, then you remove the foundation of the entire Bible. The Bible – as a whole – points to the Gospel, to Jesus, and to a Sovereign God.
Is Genesis History? takes the viewer on a trip to various parts of the earth with Dr. Del Tackett for a look “at the biblical, historical, and scientific evidence for Creation and the Flood. (You will) learn from more than a dozen scientists and scholars…” – from the back of the DVD case.
The feature film is 103 minutes and there is also 61 minutes of bonus materials, including interviews with several people. There is “A Useful Little Guide To The Film” included, as well, making it easy to refer to key points found in the DVD.
This film is beautifully done, is of a high-quality, goes in-depth, and does the necessary work to share the truth of Genesis – and ultimately the Gospel. We enjoyed watching it with our children and our oldest (12) especially liked it. We highly recommend it to everyone!
